this is really neat!!
i just wish there was some explanation behind these instead of just boring little descriptions
it was probably some reenactment project, but all the people look really realistic and like they're really there, you know? like in a history book.

the reason they looks so real is because they are! i did some poking around and found that these are part of a secret group of really good quality photos taken by the Office of War Information back in 1939-43. Here's what they say about it- "These vivid scenes and portraits capture the effects of the Depression on America's rural and small town populations, the nation's subsequent economic recovery and industrial growth, and the country's great mobilization for World War II."
I want to go to the library of Congress now, but the 'Bound for Glory" exhibition is probably already down, this is the website for 2005.
